• Who Is Chris
  • My Social Metasphere

Hey! My name is Chris and this is my little place on the web called "Limeology". On this website you will find my digital portfolio as well as a blog (coming soon!) covering subjects ranging from various aspects of graphic design (print, logo design, web design, branding) to emergent media (social networking, lifestreaming, microblogging and more).

I am 24 years old and am finishing my masters degree in Arts & Technology at the University of Texas at Dallas, but my love for art & design started many many years before my higher education. When I was only 5 years old, I painted my first picture in kindergarten. My teacher ecstatically phoned home to tell my parents that I painted my family proportional to the door of the house. "He's the only student who painted his family at the right height so they could fit in the door. He's going to be an artist someday."

Almost named Christopher Reeve, I was born in a small hospital (which doesn't exist anymore) in Denton, Texas in 1985. I grew up in Sanger, Texas with my father (an electrical eningeer) and mother (a secretary). I graduated from Sanger High School in 2003 as sixth in my class (though there's a good story to be told of why I wasn't fifth... a good story to be told over drinks) and graduated with honors.

I pursued a degree in Computer Engineering from the University of California at Davis in the fall of 2003. After realizing that a social life was impossible to attain while drooling on stacks of Calculus books and "C++ Programing for Dummies" books, I decided a career change was in order. Opting to return home to my native land of Texas, I transferred to the University of Texas at Dallas and began working on my bachelors degree in Arts & Technology. As a Dean's List student, I was able to finish my degree on time and graduate cum laude in the summer of 2007. At that point, I decided to continue my education and pursue my masters degree in Arts & Technology. With the completion of this degree as of this summer, I am now looking at various graduate schools across the country to work towards my PhD.

There are more social networks out there than you can shake a stick it. Trust me...I've tried and now my back yard is entirely devoid of trees. I do take a look at most new social services (my thoughts about them are usually found in my blog). With new ones popping up every day, it's a pain to continue to sign up for more and more networks; so I keep myself connected to a simplifed list, which can all be accessed here.
